With ten days to go before the 2007 NFL Draft, lets take a look back and rank the ten best 49ers draft day selections of all time.
Number 10:
1951 - Round 1 - QB - Y.A. Tittle, LSU.
In the team's second year as an NFL franchise, with their first pick of the draft, San Francisco selected the signal caller who would pilot the "million dollar backfield" throughout the 50's. Though he would gain greater national attention for his late career tenure with the New York Giants, Tittle helped guide the Niners through their first NFL decade. A six time pro bowler, four with San Francisco, he also won two NFL MVPs including 1957 as a Forty-Niner, the first league MVP in team history. Tittle was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971.
